Popular date party themes

Greek date parties are usually themed, and a chapter can have several a semester. Some themes that come up again and again:

Theme What to look for
Decades ('20s, '70s, '80s, Y2K) Fringe, sequins, flares, neon and metallics
Western or country Denim, fringe, western dresses and boots
White party Any white dress or set
Black and white, or one color A dress in the color, plus accessories
Beach, luau or tropical Bright prints, sundresses and sets
Mardi Gras Purple, green and gold (see Mardi Gras outfits)

For semi-formals and formals, see formal dresses.

Why renting works for date parties

  • Themes don't repeat. Rent the piece for one night instead of buying something you'll never wear again.
  • You're on campus. Many lenders are students too, so a local handoff is often the easiest option, with nothing to ship.
  • Short rentals are flat-priced. The owner sets one price for each length (2, 4, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days), so a weekend costs the 2- or 4-day price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a date party outfit?

Themed pieces on e.closet have a median rental price of $40 for the shortest length the owner offers. Delivery and a small service fee show at checkout.

Can I rent my outfit the same week?

Often, yes. Owners near campus can usually hand off locally, so you don't have to wait for shipping. Check the owner's delivery options at checkout.

What if something gets damaged at the party?

Normal wear is expected. Damage beyond that, and late returns, are charged under e.closet's Rental Protection Policy, so let the owner know right away.
