An outfit for every round
Recruitment usually runs over several days, with a different dress code each round. Always check your Panhellenic's guidelines.
| Round | Typical look |
|---|---|
| Open house | Casual and polished: a sundress or skirt and top |
| Philanthropy | Casual, sometimes a provided T-shirt with a skirt or shorts |
| Sisterhood | A step up: a nicer day dress |
| Preference | The dressiest round: a cocktail or semi-formal dress |
| Bid day | Themed: whatever the chapter's theme calls for |
That's four or five looks in about a week. Renting means you don't buy a closet's worth of dresses you'll wear once.
Why renting works for rush
- You're on campus. Many lenders are students too, so a local handoff is often the easiest option, with nothing to ship.
- Longer rentals are flat-priced. The owner sets one price for each length (2, 4, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days), so a 7-day rental can cover the whole week.
- Bid day themes change every year. Rent the themed piece instead of buying it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a rush dress?
Cocktail dresses on e.closet have a median rental price of $50 for the shortest length the owner offers. Themed pieces have a median of $40.
Can I rent outfits before I get to campus?
Yes. Choose owners who ship and pick dates that cover your arrival. Shipped rentals include a prepaid return label.
What if something gets damaged during recruitment?
Normal wear is expected. Damage beyond that, and late returns, are charged under e.closet's Rental Protection Policy.
